How to Change Car Tyre Things You Need To know

To change car tyre is a skill that every driver should know. It’s a relatively simple process, but it’s important to know the steps involved so that you can do it safely and correctly.

Things You Need To Change Car Tyre:

  • A spare tyre
  • A jack
  • A wheel wrench
  • Wheel chocks
  • Gloves (optional)

Steps To Change Car Tyre:

  1. Find a safe place to change your tyre. This should be a level surface away from traffic.
  2. Engage the parking brake and put the car in park (for automatic transmissions) or first gear (for manual transmissions).
  3. Place the wheel chocks in front of and behind the tyres that are still on the ground. This will prevent the car from rolling while you’re changing the tyre.
  4. Loosen the lug nuts on the flat tyre using the wheel wrench. You don’t need to remove them completely at this stage.
  5. Place the jack under the car according to your car’s owner’s manual. Make sure that the jack is on a solid surface and that it is properly positioned under the car.
  6. Jack up the car until the flat tyre is a few inches off the ground.
  7. Remove the lug nuts and take off the flat tyre.
  8. Put the spare tyre on the car and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  9. Lower the car until the weight of the car is resting on the spare tyre.
  10. Use the wheel wrench to tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern.
  11. Remove the jack and wheel chocks.
  12. Store the flat tyre and jack in the trunk of your car.

Tips To Change Car Tyre

  • If you’re having trouble loosening the lug nuts, try using your foot to put some extra pressure on the wheel wrench.
  • Be careful not to overtighten the lug nuts. This can damage the wheel or make it difficult to remove the next time you need to change a tyre.
  • If you’re changing a tyre on a busy road, put on your hazard lights and wear a reflective vest to stay safe.

Conclusion:

Changing a car tyre is a simple process, but it’s important to know the steps involved so that you can do it safely and correctly. By following the tips above, you can change a tyre in no time
